The American Developer is a daily record of US real estate development, the deals, approvals, and data that move the market, ranked for developers and capital.

It is an independent publication with an automated newsroom. Stories are gathered, written, and published by a software system on a daily cycle, under human editorial oversight. Every article is written from scratch in our own voice, reports only facts that can be verified in a cited source, and links back to those sources in full. We send traffic out to the original reporting and filings; that is part of how this works.

Our editorial desk oversees standards, sourcing, and corrections for The American Developer. The newsroom is automated; the standards it runs on, and the accountability for them, are human.

Each edition is an index: the day's stories are ranked by what matters to people who build and finance.
