INDEX / 44 FIRMS

Firms on record

The companies named on the South Florida permits, deeds, hearing agendas and SEC filings we pull every day. One page each, built from the records themselves, ranked by permitted construction value. Developers we have covered have their own index.

Contractors and builders

Named as the contractor of record on a permit. Ranked by the declared construction value of the permits we hold.

Owners of record

Firms that took title on a recorded sale, filed a permit application, or were named in a public hearing agenda. Taking title is not the same as developing a site, and these pages say only what the record says.

Public companies we track

Ranked by filings on our SEC EDGAR wire.

Brokerages

Ranked by how often our coverage names the firm.

How this index is built

Our permit, land, approvals and SEC wires named 277 distinct parties. Most of those are not firms, so 120 names were removed before this page was built: placeholders the records office typed in place of a party, government bodies, private individuals, and single-purpose LLCs formed to hold one parcel. Another 2 spelling variants were merged into the firm they belonged to. What is left is 155 real firms, of which 43 carry enough on the record to earn a page.

A firm earns a page on one high-trust record, a licensed contractor named on a permit or a filer on our SEC wire, or on two records of any kind. Every figure is copied from a public record and linked back to it.
