Costco closed on Haltom City land from Engler family entities and has a $3.8M fuel-facility permit, a signal for Tarrant County brokers.

Costco Wholesale Corporation has closed on commercial land in Haltom City that Engler family entities had owned, and a state filing shows the retailer is already building a fuel station on the site.

The deed, instrument D226197701, recorded Oct. 9, 2026, with the Tarrant County Clerk. The grantors are Louis Engler Properties LLC, Nettye Engler Properties LLC and the Engler Family Trust. The land, two parcels, is now platted as the subdivision COSTCO HALTOM CITY, Lot 1, Block 1. Texas deeds do not carry a sale price, and none is listed in the record.

Why it matters

Costco now owns the land and has a state construction filing for a fuel station on it. For Tarrant County brokers and landowners near Haltom Road and High Pointe, a national retailer committing to an inner-ring suburb site is a marker for that corridor.

The numbers

The construction filing, registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Sept. 15 as TABS2027001100, lists an estimated cost of $3,800,000 for an 11,655 sq ft Costco Wholesale fuel facility at the southeast corner of Haltom Road and High Pointe. The filing still names Louis Engler Properties LLC as owner of record, because it was registered before the deed closed; the Oct. 9 deed confirms the land has since passed to Costco. No street address has been assigned yet, and no tenant is listed on the filing.

What’s next

The public record does not yet show a building permit for a Costco warehouse store at the same intersection, only the fuel-facility filing. Brokers watching the Haltom City corridor should check city and state permit records for any further Costco filing at the site. More in Dallas-Fort Worth development.
