Texas Health Resources has filed a $150,000,000 commercial building permit with the City of Fort Worth for a six-story patient tower at 6100 Harris Parkway, the address of its Texas Health Southwest hospital. The permit, PB26-13455, was filed on Sept. 26, 2026 and is in plan review.

Why it matters

The permit covers the Texas Health Southwest campus in southwest Fort Worth, recorded in the River Hills I Addition. For general contractors, subs and MEP trades in Dallas-Fort Worth, a hospital tower of this size means a multi-year bid and buyout cycle that stays in Tarrant County.

The city’s record lists the owner as Texas Health Resources and the use as institutional or hospital. The permit’s project label reads “THSW Patient Tower,” which ties it to the Southwest campus.

The numbers

The permit declares $150,000,000 and describes a “6 Story Patient Tower Building.” The valuation is the figure the applicant declared on the permit, not a contract price or a confirmed total budget.

Texas Health’s own 2025 announcement for the same campus described a different scope: a five-story tower adding 64 beds, with two patient floors expected to open in 2028, at an estimated $223M including renovations. The release says the tower goes on the site of the Virginia Clay Dorman Breast Care Center, and that the tower includes shell space for later growth. We could not confirm that PB26-13455 is the same building as that announced tower. The story count and the dollar figures differ, and the permit row does not list square footage, a contractor or an architect.

What’s next

The permit is in plan review, so no approval or issued date exists yet. Texas Health said construction on its Southwest tower was slated to begin in 2026. Watch for the permit to move to issued, for a general contractor to be named, and for any state accessibility registration with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which would add square footage and a schedule. We will update when the record changes.
