Briggs Ranch district expansion went to Bexar on Oct. 13
Bexar has posted no minutes or action record, so the petition reads as pending, not decided.
An amended and restated order to expand the Briggs Ranch Special Improvement District, a public improvement district (PID) in west Bexar County, was item No. 76 on the Bexar County Commissioners Court’s Oct. 13, 2026 agenda. As of Oct. 19, the county had posted no minutes or action record for that meeting, so whether the court granted the amended petition is unconfirmed.
Why it matters
A PID sells bonds against future assessments on land inside its boundary to pay for roads and other infrastructure. Homebuyers then carry that debt service on their property tax bills. Expanding the Briggs Ranch district would extend that financing, and its debt load, to more of the community. Builders are already active there: Scott Felder Homes recorded three lot loans on Briggs Ranch North lots on Oct. 7 (our report). Builders and buyers in the corridor should treat the petition as pending until the county publishes a record of the vote.
The numbers
- Item 76: an amended and restated order on the petition creating the Briggs Ranch public improvement district, on the Commissioners Court’s Oct. 13, 2026 agenda.
- The agenda PDF is a scanned document with no searchable text, and we have not confirmed a dollar figure for the expansion. We will report one only once the backup documents or a recorded order show it.
- No minutes or action record for the Oct. 13 meeting had posted to Bexar County’s AgendaCenter as of Oct. 19, six days after the meeting.
What’s next
The expansion can be called final only after a recorded vote. This story will update once Bexar County posts the Oct. 13 minutes or a recorded PID order confirming the outcome, alongside our other San Antonio coverage.
