Century Communities (NYSE: CCS) said Oct. 8, 2026 that it has acquired substantially all of the assets of HistoryMaker Homes, and that the deal triples its community count in Dallas-Fort Worth. For land sellers, trade contractors and competing builders in the metro, one of the region’s oldest production brands now sits inside a national public builder.

Why it matters

HistoryMaker was founded in Fort Worth in 1949 and is headquartered in Grapevine, according to Century’s release. Century’s existing Dallas-Fort Worth operations will merge with it into one division based in Grapevine. For trades and lot sellers, that likely means one buyer where there were two, so pricing and takedown schedules may be renegotiated.

Century CEO Rob Francescon said HistoryMaker “gives us the scale, land position, and local talent to accelerate our growth in Dallas-Fort Worth.”

The numbers

Century did not disclose the purchase price, the number of communities or the number of lots. The release says only that the community count triples and the lot pipeline grows. We have not estimated any of them.

The seller entity is HMH Lifestyles, L.P. Its Texas Comptroller franchise record shows an active Texas partnership that registered with the Secretary of State on Dec. 1, 2003, with a Grapevine mailing address and BNMJR, Inc. listed as its general partner. The latest franchise report year on file is 2024. Texas deeds carry no sale price, so county records will not reveal the price either.

Two sister companies stay independently owned, per the release: Jabez Development, a land developer, and ONM Living, a build-to-rent company. Jabez will complete land development on select communities for Century.

What’s next

Construction, sales and closings continue on schedule, and buyers under contract keep working with their HistoryMaker team. Watch Century’s next quarterly filing, which would be the first place a purchase price or lot count could appear.
