Collin County posts 149 foreclosure sales for Oct. 6 auction
Collin County posted 149 trustee's sale notices for Oct. 6, with 79 more for Nov. 3. Most Dallas and Tarrant tax-sale listings for the day were canceled.
Collin County’s clerk has posted 149 notices of trustee’s sale for Oct. 6, the first Tuesday of October, when Texas counties hold their monthly foreclosure and tax sales. Another 79 are already posted for Nov. 3.
Why it matters
Texas forecloses without a lawsuit. A lender’s substitute trustee posts a notice with the county clerk, and the property is sold on the courthouse steps on the first Tuesday of the month. That makes the clerk’s postings the earliest public read on stress in a county, weeks before any deed is recorded.
For agents, investors and builders hunting lots, the posted list is a pipeline. A posted notice is not a completed sale, though. Many are canceled, postponed or resolved before the sale, so the 149 is a ceiling on what could change hands today, not a count of foreclosures.
The numbers
We counted every notice on the Collin County Clerk’s foreclosure page by posted sale date:
- Oct. 6: 149 notices posted for sale
- Nov. 3: 79 notices posted
- Dec. 1: 35 notices posted
Of the 149 posted for today, 87 are single-family homes, 4 are townhomes, 2 are duplexes and 2 are condominiums. Four are commercial properties, and 50 carry no property class in the clerk’s data.
The four commercial addresses are 7740 Preston Rd in Frisco, 17931 Preston Rd in the Dallas 75252 ZIP, 3601 Eldorado Pkwy in McKinney and 7249 S Custer Rd in McKinney. The Collin notices do not list a lender or a loan amount, so we are not naming either.
Tax sales run on the same Tuesday, and most of the day’s listings fell away before the auction. Dallas County’s Oct. 6 list appears on two portals, the Dallas County RealAuction site and LGBS, and 34 accounts appear on both. Matched by account number, we count 43 distinct Dallas County accounts. By midday, 22 were canceled, 10 had sold for a combined $750,483, 9 were struck off to the taxing units and 2 were still scheduled.
Tarrant County listed 32 tax-sale properties on LGBS for Oct. 6, and 28 of them were canceled. For Nov. 3, LGBS lists 40 Dallas County and 25 Tarrant County properties.
What’s next
The next First Tuesday is Nov. 3, with 79 Collin trustee sales already posted, followed by Dec. 1 with 35. Postings usually go up weeks ahead, so the later counts will likely grow. We will tally the final Oct. 6 outcomes once the clerk’s deeds are recorded, and track the four commercial addresses first. More on the region is on the Dallas market page.
