Spirit Airlines Sells Dania Beach Campus to Hill City Capital for $84M
Spirit Airlines deeded its shuttered Dania Beach headquarters campus to Hill City Capital in two deals worth a combined $84 million.
Spirit Airlines LLC closed out its exit from Dania Beach this week, deeding its former headquarters campus to Hill City Capital in two transactions worth a combined $84 million, according to Broward County deed records recorded October 23, 2026. The grounded carrier sold 1701 to 1741 Radiant Drive for $60 million and 1700 Meridian Drive for $24 million, both to the same buyer, both the same day.
Why it matters
Spirit stopped flying in May 2026 after a federal bailout fell through, and its Dania Beach campus went into a Chapter 7 liquidation sale. Bisnow reported in August that an affiliate of Boston-based Hill City Capital, DPC Holdco LLC, had emerged as the winning bidder in a bankruptcy auction, with a stalking-horse bid of $93.25 million for the full four-building campus pending court sign-off. This week’s recorded deeds confirm Hill City Capital as the buyer and put the real estate itself at $84 million across the two parcels, the clearest sign yet that the liquidation sale has closed. For capital watching Broward, it means one of the county’s largest airline-owned footprints is now in private investor hands.
The numbers
Broward County records list Spirit Airlines LLC as seller on both parcels, with Hill City Capital as buyer on both, recorded the same day. The Radiant Drive parcel, carrying Spirit’s former single-tenant office building, sold for $60 million. The Meridian Drive parcel, coded in county records as multifamily with 100-plus units, sold for $24 million. Together they total $84 million.
The deal lands in a busy week for Broward commercial trades. Wells Fargo Bank sold its branch building at 2400 East Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano Beach for $9.37 million. Crd Federal LLC sold 231 North Federal Highway in Deerfield Beach for $18 million. Realty Income Corp sold the fitness center at 3825 North Federal Highway in Oakland Park for $13.4 million. The county also recorded the previously reported Fort Lauderdale office tower discount sale this month, part of the same wave of South Florida commercial property changing hands.
What’s next
Hill City Capital has not disclosed plans for the Radiant Drive and Meridian Drive buildings. With Spirit’s liquidation estate now largely monetized through this campus, the next signal to watch is whether the Hill City Capital affiliate files permits, lists the buildings for lease, or moves toward redevelopment of a site built around a six-story office tower and a flight-simulator facility near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
