Bomar Builders, the Deerfield Beach construction firm known for high end waterfront work, has put a newly finished Fort Lauderdale estate on the market for $100 million with no buyer under contract, The Real Deal reported. The builder financed and built the home on spec, covering the full cost of construction itself and betting that a finished mansion, not a signed contract, is what closes a deal this size.

Spec building at nine figures is a wager most builders will not take. Carrying $100 million in land and construction costs with nobody locked in ties up capital for months, sometimes longer, and leaves Bomar exposed if luxury buyers pull back before the home sells. A deal anywhere close to Bomar’s number would make this the first nine figure spec sale in the market and reset what builders consider a safe ceiling for betting on faith alone.
