The West Copans transit facility package that Broward County flagged as an anticipated solicitation in July is now a live posting on the county’s BPRO procurement portal, with submissions due October 30, 2026 at 5 p.m. EDT. Contractors and design teams that held off building a bid team during the questions-only notice stage now have a firm close date to work against.

This is the follow-through on a posting our solicitation wire has tracked since late July, when Broward set only a questions deadline of August 10 and gave no indication of when a real submission window would open. That gap between notice and package is exactly where bid teams lose time, either mobilizing too early against a moving target or waiting too long and getting caught by a compressed schedule. With a firm October 30 close now on the board, general contractors and design-build teams pursuing the Copans work have roughly nine weeks to assemble a response, a workable but not generous runway for a facility job of this scope.

The project covers the county’s 27-acre Copans transit site at 3201 West Copans Road in Pompano Beach, in the Miami market’s Broward County service area. Broward County Transit’s stated scope calls for a roughly 200,000-square-foot maintenance facility built to service electric buses, rooftop solar panels, a 16,900-square-foot training center with driving simulators and classroom space, and on-site lakes and drainage systems for flood mitigation. The county has not published a contract value or budget figure for the rehabilitation and redevelopment work in the public posting.
