Former NBA center Hassan Whiteside has sold his waterfront mansion at 528 Lakeview Court in Miami Beach for $12.55 million, according to a press release from the listing brokers. Jordan Karp of Jordan Karp, LLC and Joel Lusky of The Brokerage South Florida Real Estate, LLC represented both sides of the deal, the release says.

Why it matters

The release names the buyer as Jared Galbut, founder of Heard Partners, citing public record. The sale price is about 72% above the $7.3 million recorded for the house in August 2016, which the release describes as nearly doubling the investment. The home was listed in 2025 at $15.8 million and later cut to $14.8 million, according to Resident and listing records, so the closing price came in below the early ask.

The numbers

The county appraiser lists the lot at 17,676 square feet and the building at 9,424 square feet, matching the release. The release adds 90 feet of waterfront frontage, five bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms. The 2016 deed carries $43,800 in document stamps, consistent with the $7.3 million price. The 2026 sale had not yet posted to the county’s sales history when we checked, so the $12.55 million price and the buyer come from the release.

What’s next

The tri-level house sits on a gated lot and includes a rooftop lounge with fire pit, a private theater, a gym, a custom bar, and a chef’s kitchen with Wolf and Miele appliances. Outside are a resort-style pool with waterfall, a 45-foot dock, three Jet Ski slips and direct ocean access. The release says Whiteside played five seasons with the Miami Heat and returned to pro basketball for 2025-26 with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association.
