FedEx Ground Registers $54.5M, 220,466 sq ft Cypress Sort Center

FedEx Ground Package System Inc. registered a $54.5 million, 220,466 sq ft processing center in Cypress with the state on Oct. 14, 2026. The state record names an architect but no general contractor.

Why it matters

The site is 9191 W. Grand Parkway N. in Cypress, in unincorporated Harris County. It is not inside the City of Houston.

The state filing describes a one-story, non-combustible, fully sprinklered “non-conveyable processing center.” That is FedEx’s term for a building that sorts oversized parcels.

A registration is a planned project, not a permit or a groundbreaking. Still, it names the owner and the budget before any bid list is public.

For Houston-area contractors and trade packages, the open question is who builds it. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation page lists no contractor. The tenant field reads “Not Assigned.”
