Three TDLR Filings Put $15.7M of Harris, Fort Bend Work in Pipeline

Three construction projects with a combined estimated cost of $15.7 million registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation between Oct. 22 and Oct. 26, two in Harris County and one in Fort Bend County. For subs and general contractors bidding Houston area work, the filings list start dates seven to 16 weeks out.

TDLR registration is required for projects over $50,000. It is often the earliest public record a project leaves, ahead of a building permit. This is a roundup of the past week’s filings, not same-day news.

Why it matters

Westcreek Phase 2, filed under the facility name Katy Lakes Center Phase 2, registered Oct. 22 in Harris County at an estimated $5.5 million. Alliance-Stancliff registered Oct. 23 in Harris County at an estimated $5.2 million. James W. Roberts Middle School Classroom Additions registered Oct. 26 in Fort Bend County at an estimated $5.0 million.

The two private jobs and the school job move on different tracks. Public school work usually goes through its own district procurement, separate from private commercial bids. A sub tracking all three should expect the school job to surface as a district bid notice, and the private jobs through the general contractor once one is named.
