Bridgeland, Elyson and Sheldon Ridge items go to Harris court Oct. 15

Most of the paper is MUD infrastructure and small surety amounts, which is how new sections get cleared for lots.

Three master-planned communities show up repeatedly on Harris County Commissioners Court’s Oct. 15, 2026 agenda. Bridgeland has eight items, including six surety retentions totaling $14,480, Elyson has two, and Sheldon Ridge has one. Each is a request for approval, and the court has not acted. For the rest of the development agenda, see our data center item story.

Why it matters

New sections in these communities do not reach lot sales without county paper. The agenda shows that paper in three forms: storm sewer agreements with a municipal utility district, plats, and retained financial surety.

Bridgeland is in the Cypress area. The agenda names the applicant as Bridgeland Development, LP, a Maryland limited partnership, on six surety items, all in Precinct 4. Items 28 and 29 are submerged storm sewer agreements with Harris County MUD 493 for Prairieland Village Sec 95 and the Nature Preserve Way street dedication.

Elyson is also in Precinct 4. Item 38 (26-6631) is an interlocal with MUD 533 for brick pavers in median noses, parallel parking and wheelchair ramps in the Elyson division bounded by Longenbaugh Road and Katy-Hockley Cut Off Road. The agenda does not name a developer for Elyson, and we do not either.

Sheldon Ridge Sec 18 is in Precinct 1, with IDS Engineering Group as consultant. The agenda does not say where in the county it sits, so we do not place it.

Source for every row: the Oct. 15 agenda. The surety figures are the agenda’s own and are small; they are not project costs.

Item 42 (26-6663) is a separate interlocal with Oakberry Trails Community Association for pathways and landscaping in Precinct 4. It lists no amount.

What’s next

The court meets at 9 a.m. CT on Oct. 15, 2026. Approved plats and agreements will show in the meeting record. The Planning Commission handles city-side platting the same day; see our plat docket story and the Houston market page.
